Meet the artist
Sophie De Zutter
Sophie De Zutter is a contemporary Belgian artist whose practice explores the poetic essence of natural materials. She works primarily with handmade paper, clay, and natural pigments, which she transforms into abstract canvases and wall sculptures.
Guided by intuition and a deep sensitivity to the organic world, she composes minimalist works that evoke texture, fluidity, and depth. Each creation becomes a visual meditation, an invitation to slow down, to feel, and to interpret freely.
Her art is conceived as an “ode to simplicity”, where a quiet gesture reveals the material and makes space for silence. In her work, paper embodies lightness, movement, and vulnerability, while clay grounds the form, bringing it density and stability. Through subtle contrasts, she shapes a sensory language built on time, traces, and balance.
